OK, I admit it. Until recently, I had not been to an actual butcher all year. Just Dominicks, Jewel, and tons of restaurants.
I live so close to a butcher in nearby Wilmette that such behavior is shameful.
So on a day off from work, I headed over to Al's Meat Market.
This aged sirloin was 9 dollars a pound. Much more than I'm paying at Dominicks:

And it was worth every penny more.

Al, let's be pals.
