Sometimes I'm chewing away on my beef, and I completely forget where I am. I lose myself in the moment. I give myself up to the feeling. It tingles.
Tonight, I was snorting up bite after bite of my broiled sirloin, which I decadently slathered in steak sauce, when this sensation overtook me again. I forgot all about the contest, and the need to keep Guy in the loop about my meals. Oops. This is, after all, about diligence, and discipline, and documentation. The 3 D's are so very important. But when the feeling hits, everything goes out of focus.
When I came to my senses this time, I had one forkful remaining from what was a 11.8 oz cut. This little fella was all alone:
So, after this picture was taken, oops, I ate him too.
Posted by eric at March 15, 2004 11:56 PMhey eric... i'm repulsed and attracted to this ongoing beef gluttony between you and guy.
i hate to denegrate your suggestively red background, but it makes it bloody hard to read.
hope you and samina are well, by the way, aside from eating a whole cow.
Posted by: kristi at March 18, 2004 03:54 PMHi Kristi!
A bloody background does indeed make it hard to read. Perhaps we need a different script color. Red is, as you pointed out, the symbolic color of BeefStakes.
Thanks for watching the contest. We'll need someone to tell our story when we've both died of heart attacks before summer is over.
Samina is, for the most part, remaining a passive observer of the proceedings and so, I would expect, she'll survive me.
Give our best to Leo!

Posted by: Eric at March 18, 2004 04:58 PMI have changed the type from grey to black in hopes that this will resolve the issue. But Eric, pick whatever colors you like and I'll do it, background, text, whatever.
Or if you want to tinker on your own, you can edit the stylesheets directly in movable type. Be careful, though.
Posted by: guy at March 20, 2004 10:23 PMThanks. Black is plenty easy on the eyes.
