My Mysterious Benefactor
Somebody out there is really rooting for me to win this contest. I'll call him my mysterious benefactor. He visited my office the other day, probably when I was downstairs at the deli ordering a beef sandwich. How do I know? Let me tell you.
You see, earlier today when I closed my office door to perform my mid-afternoon stretch, I noticed something out of the ordinany on the back of the door. I never usually look at the back of the door, as it's usually open, but a splash of color caught my eye this time:
WOW!
This was really something special. Various meat recipes, each devoted to a different style of preparing beef, were taped to the door panel. This person was obviously looking out for my best interests: after all, I can't eat meat without knowing how to prepare it. Good thinking.
This really gave me a boost. I have a fan. Someone out there actually cares whether I win or lose. Now I have another reason to win. I can't disappoint my fan (especially if he's a sociopath).
So, whoever you are, thanks for your generous support. I dedicate my victory, in part, to you!
But seriously, next time why don't you add a couple of coupons or some cash. Beef isn't cheap, you know.
