Leftovers, again.

Canapés steak haché. Actually, leftover ground beef on a saltine I found in my desk drawer:

My lunches at the office are sometimes pretty boring. No getting around it, haute cuisine is just leftovers when one’s sitting in an office overlooking the county jail.

5 ounces. (278 total) For my opponent’s benefit, I should mention this estimate includes fat weight, as I don’t waste a precious drop. And I eat le croquant, too, if there’s any doubt. That’s French for gristle.

Do you mean to imply that you are using the pre-cooked weight as the cooked weight? Max hasn't yet ruled on this, but I urge him to consider this issue, because if precooked and cooked are the same, then my numbers will have to be adjusted accordingly.

Of course I'm not assuming cooked weight is exactly the same as pre-cooked weight. I'm shaving a little off the top, to account for this phantom "evaporated fat" of yours plus the negligible evaporated water. The original specimem was 6 ounces.

I disagree on principle with your notion of evaporated fat, but I will concede that, as a non-chemist, I can't be sure. We should ask Leo or my Dad. Since my Dad would have me institutionalized for participating in this contest, posing the question to Leo would perhaps be for the best.

Dear Eric and Guy

If you don't mind me putting my professional two cents in, might i suggest that you both schedule your colonoscopies earlier, rather than later in the year 2004. Just a suggestion.

Samina

p.s. you both are crazy.

I'm all for that. Do we get to keep a souvenir video? When I get to Chicago, let's go out for steak, and then for colonics, and then for colonoscopies, together, shall we?

Look, after that last alien abduction, nobody's getting near my ass.

Nobody, maybe but Mel. Or, as you'll likely have to call him at that point (since he'll be in charge), Mr. Noma. Middle initial A. (duh).
