Breakfast of Champions

Steak and Eggs, for when oatmeal just isn’t enough:

DSC01423.JPG

6 ounces of this hearty breakfast beef, a la Laura’s Lean Beef (TM) (318 total) was washed down with the runny yolks of chicken eggs, and a big cup of coffee. My slavering carnivorous jaws agape, my lips wet with grease, belches emitting therefrom in regular moist intervals, I felt like a hog at the trough. No, I felt like a champion. But at this meat-destroying pace, does it really matter what I feel?

Of course it matters. You're sensitive... the last thing I would want is for this competition to sour you on something you love. Maybe it's all misconceived. Perhaps you should take a say or two off and reconsider. It sounds like you're having a difficult time, and it's still only february, you know, and it's an extra-long year this year. Leap day will be hard for all of us.

Now that you mention it, I agree it's probably best to take a day off from the pace we've set. And you're right, I'm sensitive. I agree, I'm having a difficult time.

But my difficulty, as you so kindly put it, is not what you'd expect. You see, I am a little depressed. I'm frustrated that I haven't been able to spend enough time with my wonderful beef. I can't get enough of it. I'm constantly craving more. I'm addicted. It is my sunshine.

So, I do resolve to take a break from the current pace: I resolve to double my intake. That should get me over this hump. Thanks for your advice - I feel better already!

Double it? Why not triple it? Why stop even there?

The only reason I don't quadruple it is because that would be far too expensive to maintain over time, unless my plan to work out a sponsorship/endorsement deal with Laura's Lean Beef (TM) goes well. But I have to say, even if Laura's Lean Beef (TM) representatives aren't monitoring this blog, that their beef is simply the best. And I mean really.
